Lead Development Engineer

Location: Seattle, Washington

Lead the engineering development team – and strategic vendor partners – to invent, develop, and optimize an innovative ultrasound system and transducers for a novel, non-traditional medical imaging application.  The Lead Development Engineer will oversee phase 1 investigations leading to product concepts using a commercial ultrasound system integrated with custom transducer(s) and mechanicals to meet IQ and functional performance needs. This will be followed by phase 2 product engineering development.

This critical role will provide ultrasound systems expertise and leadership that will directly impact speed of development and direction of engineering solutions from concept design to prototype implementation.

This position will also join in presenting the technology to potential investors and corporate partners.

Duties will include:

  • Lead imaging/functional requirements definition – translating customer needs into accurate technical specifications and product architecture
  • Lead the team and with energy and rigor, managing resources at multiple sites to efficiently reach development milestones.
  • Technically capable to assist Ultrasound System programming, experimentation, and prototype development.
  • Identify and establish external suppliers/consultants for critical components and sub-systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
Candidate must have a BS in Physics/EE/ME with at least 5 years of experience, OR, a Masters or PhD in Physics/EE/ME with at least 3 years of experience. Must have experience in MATLAB or C++.

FDA, ISO9000 and medical device knowledge preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and tenacity to perform in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated/self-starter able to learn quickly and effectively operate remotely when needed.

Engineering Lab Technician

Location: Seattle, Washington

Join the team developing an innovative ultrasound system and transducers for a novel, non-traditional medical imaging application.

This position will play a critical hand’s-on role in supporting engineering development by:

  • Conducting feasibility lab experiments, providing rigorous documentation of results, and feedback to the engineering team.
  • Support lab equipment acquisition, set-up, and configuration from off-the-shelf to custom components.
  • Prototype and experiment construction involving ultrasound transducers, scanning mechanicals, ultrasound system configuration, and standard lab electronic equipment.
  • Provide orderly care and maintenance of the lab facility.

Requirements:
Candidate must have vocational engineering technology certificate, or equivalent experience.

Experience in MATLAB or C++ is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and tenacity to perform in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated/self-starter able to learn quickly and contribute immediately.
